I don't know if it's because I'm fuzzy headed from the sore throat, cough, stuffy and runny nose--(crap, colds suck) but here are some things I have been thinking:
1. Why do we get colds? All the things doctors can cure and we haven't figured out the cold. I think there is a cure but it is being held hostage by NyQuil and Vicks!
2. Girls that haven't seen Grease 2...how is that even possible????? I have one word for you-Net flicks!
3. Today, Oprah is having a young girl teach us to yodel...(could it be Obama is planning to take over Switzerland?)
4. I think, "Walking with the Dinosaurs" looks awesome! Wish I had tickets for the front row.
5. That's all for now.

The common cold, like influenza, has too many variations (about 100) so it is very hard for an anti-virus to target a causative agent, so none have been developed yet. (Although, I was just reading an article in "Time" not long ago that a possible vaccine is now being tested. But that will probably be a decade before it's actually used in the market, if ever.)
The only reason a flu shot can be developed and recommended each year is, simply, guess work. There are fewer strains of the flu, and preventative disease specialists can predict which strain will be the dominant one of the year. However, sometimes they guess wrong (like last year).
You suffer from asthma, right? Supposedly, people with asthma suffer from the common cold more frequently and with greater severity. Otherwise, adults just catch colds about 2-4 times a year. Much better than the rate at which children do: 8-12 times a year (but to be fair, kids are WAY germier).
I can thank both my parents (both of whose undergrad work was in microbiology) for providing me with endless science lectures as I was growing up for all this info.
I guess that's why I wasn't watching Grease 2.
Who has time for movies? Not me, therefore we are not members of Netflix.
Colds suck and now that we have Miller bringing home the germs, I had my first cold this year! I have always been lucky. Maybe 2 a year at most (one in the fall and one in the spring). I attributed those to the new groups of snotty kids coming to skating when I taught.
Get better. I raise a Kleenex to you with extra lotion and a shot of Nyquil.
