I am sure by now no one is reading my blog it has been so long since I have had time to write. But now that my company is gone maybe atleast I can read some.

My relatives had a problem getting home because of bad weather. Ironically, not MN bad weather, snow, but Florida bad weather, rain and tornados. They went to the airport at noon on Wed. and didn't make it home until 1:00 Thursday afternoon. Luckily, while he was here, Jon borrowed Ian his PSP and Ian liked it so much he bought one just before he left. I'm sure his mother was thankful he had it, as they spent 24 hours in airports. Lilly had her game boy and the kids had home work...I'm sure homework was the highlight! You never know about flying...ask Shannon to tell you her weather related flying horror stories sometime.

Today was a whirlwind of laundry, cleaning and errands. Now I am watching Lost and crashing. (Not literally, I hope.)

Short order cook

Erin brought up a good point about the baby we are awaiting being more exhausting than 2 grade school kids...but she is forgetting one thing, I won't be the one getting up! That is why being the grandma is so perfect, I can have the baby when it's good, give it back when it's not.

I hope that both of your babies will sleep like Shannon did. From the first night we brought her home she slept all night. The first night we were scared to death and stood by the crib from about 2:00 on making sure she was breathing. I even changed her while she slept. She was always a good sleeper.

But I guess I paid for that later because she was a terrible eater! What a fight that was. I finally had to give up and make her the three things she liked over and over every night. I was reminded of it this week. Everyone wanted a different meal. Ian likes nothing. So in an attempt to get him to eat anything good for him at all-I made what he liked in addition to our meals. Although he barely ate any of it. (He fills up on too much pop, donuts & cookies.) However, Lilly is such a good eater and will try almost anything. I feel like a short order cook! Last night I even dreamed of cooking and dishes!

So here is to healthy, happy, sleepy babies.

Nite Nite

Fun day shopping nephew and neice got a lot of great summer clothes. (Will most likely out grow them before summer comes to MN. Drove to the beach and had dinner at Lulu's bait shack. Having two children around is exhausting. So I am crashing early...

A day in the life

Yesterday was busy. I cleaned, shopped for groceries, made up the beds in the guest rooms & cooked spaghetti and meatballs. Yes, I was getting company! My sister-in-law & my niece and nephew came for a weeks visit. Kathy rented a car and after getting lost three times finally got here. My directions were impeccable but still following Florida's oddly marked roads can be a challenge.

Shannon came over after work and the five of us had snacks, got them settled in, had dinner and a nice relaxing visit. They were tired after their trip so we all put on PJ's and the kids watched a movie in bed. Kathy read while I watched some Cashmere Mafia then we crashed early. Tomorrow we have shopping planned for summer clothes for the kids and a trip to the ocean.

It's only about 4:30 A.M. but I can't sleep. So I am playing on the computer which is quieter than TV, although I do love TV this time of night--paid programming. I always wonder why companies chose to sell their wares in the middle of the night. Who do they think is watching? I bet they hope some of us insomniacs are in a sleep deprived stupor and will just pick up the phone. One night I did that and bought Kaboom. Wow, do I love that for cleaning showers! Kaboom is a verb to me now. I always say to my husband…did you Kaboom today. I like to spray the shower every three or four days then you never have to scrub, it just stays clean. I worry while I’m down here that he won’t keep up with it. I am anal about clean showers.

Sharing these details of my boring life has put even me to sleep--over and out!

Dumb & Dummer

This week I did two really stupid things. Well, two I'll admit to. (I think I must have something on my mind.) But I better get my head in the game or I'll be broke. Or should I say John will be broke and I'll be cut off.

First, I went to Sams Club and bought a few things one of which was a case of water which I put on the bottom of my cart. When I got home I realized that is where it stayed. I hope the Cart-Boy was thirsty.

Second, I drove to Coral Springs to check out a couple fabric stores. I was right next to the Target at the Expressway and University and needed several things, one of which was an over-the-door towel bar. When I got home I had everything but that. The girl forgot to put it in my cart. I was pissed but it hardly made sense to drive all that way back to get it.

I hope my husband doesn't read this! Anyway from now on I am going to check all bags and carts. Please tell me this has happened to someone besides me!

Super Bolt Sunday

Today I had planned a fun day of Super Bolt shopping at a near by material store. (Big sale, huge.) But the best laid plans...and all that. Shannon wasn't feeling good so I stayed to fix her lunch. Still not feeling good. Then I stayed to fix her Super Bowl party food. Still not feeling good. So I am picking up Jon for her and staying to fix her dinner. Then just going home so she can go to bed. No Super Bolt Party for me. (But I am going to be a Grandma...that makes up for anything!)

Sleepy Time

Went shopping with Shannon. Well shopping with her now is more of a one-stop-shop experience...she is always tired. Then we had lunch to ward off the nausea. Then home to rest and off to dinner with Venessa at Moon Thai. While waiting she needed a snack. Now home to rest. Do you see a pattern here?
