White or Colored

I have found that people can be divided into two categories. White or Colored. Lights that is.
I myself am a colored lover. Trees to me look so wonderful with all those colored lights glowing and the bulbs reflecting the sparkle from the lights. I can however put white ones outside on bushes or palm trees as it were. (They look especially good in the snow.) I also don’t mind white ones around stairs etc…but on the tree, for me, it must be colored.
So tell me are you a white or colored light lover?

Colored, and I am talking old school colored. None of this efficient-LED-superbright S$!t. It's not Chrimmus unless you are worried about your tree going up in smoke because the golfball sized bulbs have been on for 10 minutes.

Interesting opinion since we have white lights outside and on our tree. Too much Xmas Vacation movie for you! :)

Interesting question. As a child I was always insistent on colored lights for the tree. Like you said, I love all the sparkling colors. I do prefer white lights outside though, it is like stars twinkling against the snow. I think the white lights are very classy and elegant.

As an adult, so far I have only had a small 3 foot fake tree. The interesting thing is, I have always had white lights on that tree. Colored lights just don't seem to "fit" it. But, I still feel that when I eventually have a place big enough for a real tree that it will have colored lights. (Actually, maybe it will have a mixture of both! I do love the lights!)

Colored! I prefer my Christmas tree, and my holiday, to include a little dash of chaos: colored lights with every kind and type of ornament imagineable all mixed together. It's so fun to gaze at the tree and search out all the special ornaments and all the memories that go with them. White lights would be way too classy for my tree! White outside though, definitely. :)

I read this tonight (a bit behind) and had to comment. I tried the sophisticated white lights but there was no ambience, really. I had them for one year. The kids hated them. Then the next year I went 1/2 and 1/2. The kids still hated them. Then I went colored full time again (though not the nice big lights from the past..I worry too much about fires). I haven't heard one complaint in years. I have thousands of colored lights on my tree with all the old hand made ornaments the kids made in elementary school, and all the new ones we've received each year. Lots of memories. Just GLAD we don't have to do the tinsel!! Hate that, even though as a kid we had that on the tree. It would be in a big snarl by the end of the holiday with six kids and cats and dogs. Wi.
